StaRS Team Day

23/05/24

“The STaRS team had an amazing time at our team building day out. It helped to boost our wellbeing and gave us an opportunity to celebrate the hard work and resilience of the team”.

Specialist Treatment and Recovery Service(STaRS)aims to maximise people’s recovery from mental health through intensive evidence based interventions in people’s homes, placements and local communities. They work to support and restore people to their optimal physical, cognitive, psychological and social functioning. STaRSprovides a multi-disciplinary approach; promoting recovery for individuals with complex and enduring mental health difficulties who may have previously had an inpatient rehabilitation admission.

Health Stars helped to support the STaRS request for a team building dayto bring everyone together as the service was undergoing a lot of change at the time.

“STaRSwasstill a new service when we reached out to Health Stars” said Vicky Davis, Specialist Nurse for STaRS. “We had a lot of new staff who were working hard together to develop a hybrid service to promote mental rehabilitation across the Hull and East Riding communities.”

The Service had also beenshortlisted for the HSJ Community and Primary Care Provider of the Year Award in 2022 in which they highly commended. Asonly 10 members of the team were able to attend the award ceremony in London due to ticket allocations, Vickywanted an event for all the service staff to celebrate this amazing achievement.

“The team decided they wanted to do a Geo Hunt” said Vicky. “It sounded like a fun way to bring the team together and boost our health and wellbeing.”

“We had to split up into teams and find clues around Beverley using our mobile phones. It became quite competitive as we could see where the other teams were and how they were doing.

“We ended our day with a buffet and prize evening at the Beverley Westwood Golf Course. Everyone really enjoyed it and we had lots of laughs along the way.”
