Fourteen members of staff from Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust have raised more than £4,000 for Health Stars after completing the NHS Collaboration Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge.
The team were among more than 80 members of staff from 10 NHS trusts across Yorkshire who took on one of the UK's most iconic walking routes to raise funds for their NHS charity.
Participants walked approximately 24 miles and tackled more than 1,500 metres of ascent over Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Traditionally completed within 12 hours, the route is a test of both physical and mental endurance.
Lyndsay, Team Leader for the Hull Integrated Care Team for Older People, who completed the challenge, said: "Completing the Three Peaks was an amazing experience and a challenge I've wanted to conquer for a long time. Being able to support Health Stars at the same time made it all worthwhile and it felt like a real team effort walking with NHS colleagues."
The money raised by Trust's staff will be used to enhance patient care across the Trust.
