Portable ECG Machines

“Portable ECG machines allow recording and monitoring of portable heart rate and rhythm, in a patient's home rather than being transferred to hospital or a GP surgery.”

Our North Yorkshire Community Service provides 24 hour community nursing across Whitby, Scarborough, Ryedale and Pocklington, seven days a week.

They contacted Health Stars to request funding for three lightweight portable ECG machines to support patients being cared for at home (including residential homes), who are unable to, or face challenges attending GP surgeries or hospitals for ECGs.

“Many of our patients are vulnerable with a variety of health needs” said Sarah Locker, Service Manager. “Portable ECG machines allow recording and monitoring of portable heart rate and rhythm, in a patient's home rather than being transferred to hospital or a GP surgery.”

“This allows community staff to gain a fuller picture of the patient's clinical need, and to support decisions around care and treatment options. The device is easy for a healthcare professional to use and can be stored at central bases within the community to enable services and teams to access the equipment when needed."

Health Stars has only been able to fund the ECG machines through thesupport of businesses, community groups and the generosity of our friends and neighbours.

Your donations fund life saving and life changing care and support for NHS services in your community.
