Michele Moran, Chief Executive of Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust, recently completed her latest CEO Challenge: an ambitious 100-mile treasure hunt across the East Riding of Yorkshire.
During her journey, Michele visited eight different Trust services, taking on a series of unique challenges at each stop that tested her mental agility, physical endurance, and sense of humour.
Her efforts raised over £3,000 for Health Stars, which will go towards supporting staff health and wellbeing initiatives across the organisation.
From solving Trust-related trivia at Beverley Community Mental Health Team, to wordsearch quizzes in Driffield and crab fishing in Bridlington with the SeaFit team, Michele embraced every task with enthusiasm.
Her journey continued to Granville Court in Hornsea, where she hunted for clues around the garden to the Mission Impossible theme tune. At Maister Lodge in Hull, she took on sensory challenges to experience life from the perspective of those with visual or hearing impairments. Michele then undertook a basketball challenge alongside Medical Director Dr. Kwame Opoku-Fofie, before heading to the Memory Clinic for a mirror maze challenge. Her final challenge "I’m a CEO, Get Me Out of Here!", which tested her senses and emotional resilience, was delivered by the 0-19 Integrated Specialist Public Health Nursing Service and the Children’s Mental Health Support Team.
On completion of her challenge Michele said: “I have to admit, I was a little nervous about taking this on, but it turned out to be such a rewarding experience. It was a real privilege to meet so many incredible patients and staff along the way. Their support and encouragement made all the difference.
“I’m genuinely overwhelmed by the amount we’ve raised. I can’t thank everyone enough. Every single penny will go towards making a positive difference for both our patients and our colleagues.”
Health Stars Charity Manager Anita Green added, “We’re incredibly proud of Michele and grateful for her support. We’d also like to thank the staff who had created some fabulous tasks! The funds raised will go directly into initiatives that supports the patients and staff across the Trust.”
