The Children’s Community Physiotherapy Service specialise in treating children and young people aged 0-19 years. They aim to improve the quality of life of children and young people by promoting independence and encouraging physical fitness and wellbeing.
The service is provided in community locations across Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire, including Alfred Bean Hospital in Driffield.
They submitted a Wish to Health Stars to request funding for a new storage unit to create a more child friendly environment.
Yvonne Frederick, a Physiotherapy Assistant, expressed her gratitude, saying, “We’d like to thank Health Stars for our amazing new storage unit!
"We have a wide range of age-appropriate toys that we use in our assessment and treatment of children and young people.
"Before receiving the unit, we had to store toys in various boxes of different sizes and colours within the treatment room, which sometimes meant it took a little longer to find what we needed.
"The new unit allows us to store everything in one place, creating a more organised system and speeding up the process for staff.”
Health Stars also funded a new treatment mat, essential for providing age-appropriate floor play during assessments and treatments for younger children in the clinic.
