Chief Executive Dances Through the Decades for Health Stars

23/05/24

Each year Michele Moran, Chief Executive of Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust, takes on a challenge to raise money for Health Stars. Previous challenges, which have raised over £15,000, include washing cars and cycling an 84-mile virtual route from the Trust’s Children and Young People’s Mental Health Unit, Inspire on Walker Street, Hull to Whitby Community Hospital.

In 2023, Micheleraised over £4,000 when she took on a day-long dance challenge to raise money for Health Stars and celebrate the 75th birthday of the NHS.

The day-long dance-a-thon began at 8.30am with music from 1948, the year in which the NHS was created, and then moved through the decades and finished with current day hits.

Michele was joined on the journey by staff from across our Humbelievable teams and included dance lessons in traditional African and Irish dancing!

Other special guests included the Hull City Ladies Football team and the Chief Executives from neighbouring health and social care organisations, who provided support and motivation to Michele along the way.

Michele Moran, said:“I am a complete non-dancer, so was this a big challenge for me. I enjoyed being joined on the dancefloor by my colleagues across the Trust both in person and virtually!

“Thank you to everyone who sponsored and donated, your generosity will truly go a very long way to support our patients and staff, who are at the heart of all that we do. I’m pleased to be able to do my bit to contribute to our amazing charity.”

The Health Stars Charity Manager said: ““We were delighted to work with Michele on this exciting challenge. It’s a true privilege to raise funds to help add that extra sparkle to our local NHS services. The more we raise, the more patients, staff and families we can support!”

A huge thank you to our CEO Challenge event sponsors: Hull City Care, MS3 Networks, Houlton, and Capsticks.
