Our Christmas Gift Appeal is back for patients receiving treatment in Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust’s mental health units and community wards.
Each year, many patients in our community spend Christmas in hospital, away from the comfort of family and friends. A simple gift can make a world of difference, offering comfort, joy, and a reminder that they are not alone.
Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust runs mental health inpatient units across Hull and East Yorkshire and community hospital wards in Malton and Whitby, North Yorkshire.
Anita Green, Health Stars manager, explains why we are running our appeal for a second year: “Christmas is a time for giving, and we are committed to bringing a little joy to those spending the festive season in the Trust’s inpatient settings. Last year’s Christmas Gift Appeal was an incredible success, with generous donations helping to bring a little festive cheer to patients across the Trust.
Christmas can be a difficult time for many people which is why these thoughtful gestures can have a huge impact on a patient’s wellbeing.”
Unwrapped gifts can be dropped off at collection points across Hull and East Yorkshire. There is also the alternative to purchase directly from the appeal’s Amazon Wishlist ort to make a cash donation to the appeal which will be used to purchase additional gifts.
