Hull based contact centre business ResQ is championing the Health Stars Impact Appeal as its local chosen charity in 2019 and is encouraging other Humber based businesses to do the same. Clare Woodard, Head of Fundraising for the charity said “We are delighted to be working with ResQ.  Having such a high-profile local business on board, with their incredible staff, will go a long way towards helping us achieve our fundraising target as well as getting the word out to other businesses that their help is fundamental to the success of this project, both now and in the future”.

Health Stars, the charity for Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust, launched the Impact Appeal last October, its aim is to raise £600,000 to help “add sparkle” to the brand new Children’s Mental Health inpatient unit the Trust is currently building in the City Centre. This great new facility is vital to those local youngsters coping with complex and often severe mental health conditions, some of whom have had to travel hundreds of miles out of the area to receive the specialised treatment and accommodation they need.

Amanda Parkinson, Marketing Director for ResQ said

“It’s really important for ResQ to be able to support a local charity. Working as a team to raise money brings so many benefits and for us having a chosen charity helps to maintain focus and momentum whilst avoiding ‘charity fatigue’. When working with the Smile Foundation to choose a partner, the Impact Appeal felt like a perfect match. The mental health and wellbeing of our future workforce across the region is so important and we will do all that we can to support and raise as much money for the appeal. Sadly, I suspect all of us will know someone or be close to someone who at some point in their life has required mental health support, and that is why I think our staff have been so generous.

ResQ are hosting a corporate reception to thank those businesses already on board with the Impact Appeal as well as to welcome new firms who want to get involved in this fantastic local project.
