Following the launch of the Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust’s new look charitable funds, Health Stars, the Big Thank You Appeal has begun.
Health Stars is calling on people to say a #BigThankYouNHS if they’ve had a great experience in the Trust’s care. A ‘thank you’ could be aimed at the nurse who held your hand, the porter who made you smile, the doctor who supported a member of your family, or any other member of staff that made a difference to your care.
The Big Thank You Appeal is part of a larger restructuring of the Trust’s charitable funds, which now encourages donations into a range of different pots of money to be spent on extras that are above and beyond statutory NHS funding. They include things like improving the facilities in relative rooms, innovative pieces of equipment, refurbishments, specialised staff training and patient items.
Health Stars actively spends charitable funds and is encouraging patients, relatives and staff to submit a ‘wish’ to the Circle of Wishes campaign. Wishes can range from, sweets for chemotherapy patients and adapted iPads for stroke patients, to specialist staff training courses.Add a Thank you Support Us
It didn’t take us long to make use of our wheel barrows.
Many thanks, Health Stars, you made our day.

Thanks to the funding obtained by Health Stars our allotment has all the tools it needs for its start up therapy group.
As a result of the funding the group of young people were able to construct and race the kit car. This wish allowed a group of young people with social and emotion problems to work as a team and build positive relationship’s. Thank you
We were very grateful for the funding which allowed the trip to happen, but also to the volunteers and staff who made it possible. It was a wonderful day and one that many people will treasure.
The clients have all commented how much they value the help and support from Health Stars in maintaining what we need to keep the group running.
Thank you very much
A #BIGTHANKYOU to all the runners who took part in the Hull 10K and the Humber Half Marathon, raising funds for Health Stars. You all did fantastically well and we are super proud of you all! Thanks again
We finally got the soil sorted: all went to plan, I must mention that without the great help from the patients from Ouse ward and staff Rachel and Trevor from the OT department this would have been impossible on my own.
I really appreciate the input and involvement and the work you have done for the OT department.
Thank you for our trip to The Deep !
The group had such a good time.
To be honest they were satisfied with just having lunch, so a nice excursion afterwards was amazing.
A few of us at the back had a great surprise and had a private dive show as we were leaving. The diver waved at us and came to the window and fed some fish right in front of us. They were thrilled!
I really think that having this trip has been a very memorable experience for this group and they have expressed their gratitude to all involved in the organising of it.
Thank you, Health Stars. The Nimbus mattresses you’ve provided means my dad is much comfier. It’s nice to see him looking so relaxed!
Thank you, Health Stars. The garden tools are really helping my patients undergoing therapy after a stroke.
