Whitby Hospital is currently undergoing a £13 million refurbishment and together with HEY Smile Foundation, we have set an ambitious target to raise £200,000 to add ‘that extra sparkle’ to the hospital and gardens over and above what the NHS core budget can provide.
All money raised will go directly to the Appeal, to fund the purchase of items to improve the new building and outdoor areas, with particular emphasis on dementia friendly enhancements.
This year, the organisers of the Mulgrave Estate 10k run, which will take place on Sunday 8th August at 11:00, are working in partnership with Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust, to help raise funds for the Appeal and have kindly donated 20 places for participants wishing to raise money for the Whitby Hospital Appeal.
First run in 2012, the race is held at the Mulgrave Estate, Lythe and is organised by Loftus and Whitby AC, in conjunction with Mulgrave Community Sports Association. All proceeds from the race are donated to Mulgrave Community Sports Association who provides wonderful sporting facilities in the Whitby area, such as football, cricket and bowls.
Tony Hare, Mulgrave Castle 10k Organiser, said:
“We are so pleased to donate 20 places to Whitby Hospital at this year’s race. We hope the proceeds will aid with their fundraising, and also act as a token of thanks to local NHS staff who have shown their dedication to our community during the pandemic.”
